Big fireworks show this Saturday at Mt Lawn
Mt Lawn Speedway located 5 miles west of New Castle will present its annual giant fireworks show this Saturday night June 23rd along with the racing program consisting of the VanHoy Oil Firecracker 50 a 50 lap Thunder Car feature event in addition to Hornets, Rookie Hornets, ACRA FasKarts, Street Drags and Big Wheel races for kids 3 up.
The professionally set fireworks show, by Fireworks International of Indianapolis, has grown in size over the past years and this year’s show will be the largest ever. The fireworks will be set off soon after dark.
Kids must bring their own Big Wheels to the track for races staged in 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 9 and up age groups.
Dashes, heats and features will be run in the stock car divisions along with the FasKarts. The fan favorite Street Drags and Big Wheel races will take place between the heats and feature events. Late Models have been given the week off to prepare for the 42nd Raintree 100 coming up June 30th.
The grandstand gates and practice open at 5:00, qualifications at 6:15 with racing at 7:30. Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, kids 6-10 $5 with 5 and under free.
