Magee wins Mt Lawn Enduro

Johnny Magee of Carthage won the Thunder Car Enduro Sunday afternoon at Mt Lawn Speedway.

Herbie Conrad of Indianapolis got the jump at the start of the 100 event and led the first 12 laps. Ryan Amonett of New Castle got around Conrad on lap 13 and led the next 9 laps. Eric Evans of Greenfield took the lead on lap 22 and led the next 16 laps. Magee took over the lead on lap 38 after Evans had a tire go down. Evans was able to nurse his mount around until a yellow flag came out on lap 40 and was able to make it to the pits for a quick tire change. Evans returned to the race on the lead lap and finished second. Ronnie Rose of Anderson finished third followed by Rob Allman of Anderson, Nick Warner of Anderson, Zach Lacy of New Castle, Pam Neal of Shirley, Trent Gossar of Markleville and Herbie Conrad of Indianapolis. The cars of Kevin Claborn of Cambridge City and Amonett got into an altercation under yellow on lap 80. Both drivers were forced to spend the rest of the race in the pits because of their careless action. They were both running in the top 5 at the time of the incident. Kyle Evans was also asked to park his car after he got into Josh Ebbert of Franklin on lap 80. Claborn, Amonett and Kyle Evans will not be allowed to participate in the first two races of 2013 because of their actions.

Jason Thompson won the Late Model feature with Neil Marcum of Morristown second. Randy Anderson of Knightstown led the first 3 laps when Kevin Claborn took over. Scott Knepley of Spiceland got around Claborn for the lead on lap 10 and led until lap 27 when he and eventual winner Thompson tangled on the backstretch. Third place went to Claborn followed by LJ Lines of Lewisville, Anderson, Adam Keesling of Cambridge City, Brandon Mefford, Knepley and Todd Marsh of Muncie.

Hornet feature went to Andy Jennings of Richmond with Larry Hughes Jr of Greensboro second and Lenny Tungate of New Castle third. Tungate led the first 8 laps when Hughes got around him. Hughes held the top spot until lap 24 win Andy Jennings took over. Chris Jennings of Richmond finished fourth followed by Joseph Jennings of Richmond, Jeff Sorrell of New Castle, Josh Neal of New Castle, Terry Neal of New Castle, Chase Lane of Knightstown, Nick Warner of Anderson, Jared Keller of Anderson and Taylor Wyman of Selma.

The Legend feature went to Aaron Holden with Heath Tatman second.

Billy the Kid of New Castle won the Street Drag championship in a 04 Acura RSX over Scott Razor of New Castle in a Caprice.
